I liked the names you chose for your pets.  Your reptillian family sounds exotic and interesting and much more affectionate than most people think of Reptile as being capable of.  I know they can though, even fish.  Dad had great big 300 gallon tanks and had Oscars he used to bop in the nose when he hand fed his pet fire eel.  The eel only ate meat out of his hand and when he finished he would wrap his body around dad's arm kind of cuddling Dad's arm.
