Tina, Maybe it counts as a nice thing to say that even when you are just groping out in the darkness, you have the strength and the ability to comfort someone else. Your asking for -- or expressing the need for -- a reason to live, resonated with me and made me feel less alone. I guess this time misery really does love company. Thank you for your honesty and your posts. Does that count as a reason? Douglas

Yes, knowing that we are not alone is what we need to know. This illness causes us to feel so alone and lonely. It is difficult to find people who actually know how we are feeling, and I for one don't feel as though I can just talk to anyone about the way I feel. It's a lonely illness and its comforting to know we are not alone.
