I recently had to change my medication intensely. I was taking Lamictal-300mg, Adderall-60mg, Welbutrin SR-400mg. I am sure most people know that medicine is NOT cheap. I didn't have health insurance until May 1st. So I was slowly sinking in to the dreaded financial black hole! There were times when I couldn't afford to get it all and would hit the good ol' DTs. I hated it. I finally was able to get discounted health insurance so now I have a premium to pay, but my meds are affordable. Unfortunately, the only med of mine that was covered was the Welbutrin. I wanted to change it up anyway because I gained weight on such a high dose. I have to stop taking Lamictal and start taking oxcarbazepine-300mg, budeprion SR-300mg, Ritalin-20mg. My body hates me now. All I want to do is sleep. Well, my mind doesn't, but my body feels freakin' sedated. It has only been 2 weeks so I am trying to hang on, but this sucks. It baffles me why health insurance companies do not cover most mental health meds. Or any other type of meds...How do they justify that? It should not ne so hard to get meds!!!
