Hello,
My wife is the most amazing wonderful woman/mother/partner a man could ever dream of....she just happens to be bipolar. I am new to learning about this disease and would really like to become more knowledgable.. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A CLINIC OR SEMINAR OR CLASS THAT IS HIGHLY RATED FOR SPOUSES SUCH AS MYSELF TO ATTEND TO LEARN ABOUT THE DISEASE AND HOW I CAN HELP HER AND US???
Thank you,
B-
I was diagnosed Bipolar I, rapid cycling in 1993 and it took me ten years to accept that there really was a mental illness that was part of me. Acceptance is the big key for me.
In 2002 I found my current pdoc and Ph.d therapist and they have made the biggest difference in my life. I have to consant tweaking of my meds and my therapy has taught me ways to cope with the sudden surprises that bipolar springs on us. Stress is still the biggest trigger for me. I don't sleep well and would welcome suggestions on that subject.
I am glad to be part of the group.
